FAQ
What am I buying here?
You're buying Bitcoin Testnet (tBTC) for development/testing. It is a common opinion that testnet coins have no value, but economic reality has historically proved otherwise. Small amounts of testnet are available for free by faucets so that everyone has access to test the bitcoin network. However, large amounts of testnet are often unreasonable for mere testing, but quite difficult to obtain. Therefore, big amounts (> 1000 tBTC) are scarce, and thus, it makes sense for a market to form around them.
How is the price calculated?
The rate is 1 tBTC = 100 mainnet sats. The app calculates the mainnet amount from the tBTC you request.
When do I receive my tBTC?
As soon as your mainnet payment to the deposit address has at least 1 confirmation, we send your tBTC on Testnet4 automatically.
Can I cancel an order?
Yes. If you've created an order, a "New Order" button appears. If no payment has been detected yet, your order is marked cancelled
and you can create a new one.
Why does the button say “Create Order” but I get the same order back?
We only allow one active order per session. If you already have a waiting/confirmed order, we show that one instead of creating a new address.
Do you store my data?
We store the order, the mainnet deposit address, the requested amount, your Testnet4 destination, and basic session metadata. No personal identity info.
What if my tBTC payout seems stuck?
Payouts are broadcast right after we detect one confirmation on mainnet. If it appears stuck, wait a few minutes and check again your wallet; testnet4 can be bursty.
Can I contact you if an error occurs?
Absolutely. If you don't receive your tBTC, or some other error occurs, please contact us at testnet.sale@protonmail.com and include the requested mainnet deposit address in the message. We will investigate the issue and respond to you as soon as possible.
